About Us

The Partnership for Workplace Mental Health is a program of the American Psychiatric Foundation, a subsidiary of the American Psychiatric Association. The Partnership works with businesses to ensure that employees and their families living with mental illness, including substance use disorders, receive effective care. It does so in recognition that employers purchase healthcare for millions of American workers and their families.

Employers increasingly recognize that untreated mental illness increases absenteeism, saps productivity, and drives up healthcare and disability costs. The good news is that treatment works and is cost effective. The Partnership promotes the business case for investing in quality mental healthcare that includes early recognition, access to care and effective treatment.

Leading employers are making a difference by taking action. The Partnership collaborates with employers to promote successful employer innovations and encourage more companies to take action.
